About Us
Who am I?
My name is Sunil Sharma, and I'm a lawyer by profession.
My fight against gender-biased laws began in 2009. It all started when my elder brother’s ex-wife, aided by her biological sister who held a position as a judgment writer in the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana, falsely accused me and my entire family. The allegations included a wrongful complaint of dowry demands under Section 498A IPC and charges of Criminal Breach of Trust under Section 406 IPC.
At that time, I had completed my law degree, although my initial intention was not to pursue a career as a lawyer. However, this incident compelled me to enter the field of law, as the lawyers we consulted ended up causing more distress than relief. Our attempts to secure anticipatory bails were unsuccessful in the Sessions Court of Chandigarh.
From that pivotal moment, I assumed the responsibility of extricating my family from this turmoil, and we forged ahead without hesitation.
Consequently, the divorce settlement was achieved without any monetary exchange, as we dedicated ourselves to combating the injustice perpetuated by the very laws meant to uphold fairness.
This marked the inception of our journey, an odyssey that remains ongoing. It will persist as long as this bias continues to exist.
